TERMS & CONDITIONS
Please find our full T&C’s for our Bartender Cocktail Competition 2026 (Mauritius).

1.1 The Mango Bay Bartender Competition ("the Competition") is open to licensed hotels, bars and restaurants operating in Mauritius.
1.2 To be eligible, participating establishments must, by 30 September 2026, satisfy one of the following criteria:
List both Mango Bay Mauritian Rum and Oaks & Ames White Mauritian Rum on their drinks menu; or
Purchase a minimum of three (3) bottles of Mango Bay Mauritian Rum and three (3) bottles of Oaks & Ames White Mauritian Rum from Oxenham Craft Distillery.
1.3 Each eligible establishment may nominate one (1) bartender to represent the venue.
1.4 The Competition is limited to 14 finalists, comprising:
10 Hotel Bartenders
4 Bar & Restaurant Bartenders

2.1 Registration closes on 30th September 2026.
2.2 If more than fourteen eligible entries are received, finalists will be selected based on the total volume of Mango Bay Mauritian Rum and Oaks & Ames White Mauritian Rum purchased from Oxenham Craft Distillery during the qualifying period (30 September – 23 October 2026).
2.3 Finalists will be announced during the official Cocktail Reception on 28 October 2026 at Thirsty Bistro, Moka.
2.4 The Organisers reserve the right to verify all eligibility requirements before confirming participation.

3.1 The Grand Final will take place on Thursday, 12 November 2026, at the Sir Gaëtan Duval Hotel School of Mauritius.
3.2 The Organisers reserve the right to amend the venue, schedule or event format should circumstances require.

4. Competition Products
4.1 Each confirmed competitor will receive:
One complimentary bottle of Mango Bay Mauritian Rum
One complimentary bottle of Oaks & Ames White Mauritian Rum
4.2 These bottles are provided exclusively for recipe development and practice prior to the Competition.

5.1 Competitors are encouraged to incorporate products from the Oxenham Craft Distillery portfolio wherever appropriate.
5.2 All Oxenham spirits, liqueurs and juices required during the Competition will be supplied by the Organisers.
5.3 Any ingredients or equipment not supplied by the Organisers—including homemade ingredients, syrups, infusions, bitters, fresh juices, garnishes, spices, edible decorations, specialist ingredients, bar tools or glassware—must be supplied by the competitor.
5.4 Only Mango Bay Mauritian Rum and Oaks & Ames White Mauritian Rum may be displayed on the competition station. All other products will be positioned in the designated speed rack.

6.1 Each competitor must create:
One original Mango Bay Mauritian Rum cocktail
One original Oaks & Ames White Mauritian Rum cocktail
6.2 Each cocktail must contain a minimum of 50ml of the relevant competition rum.
6.3 Competitors must prepare two identical serves of each cocktail:
One for photography and display
One for the judging panel
(Should the judging panel size change, the organisers reserve the right to reduce the required number of serves.)

7.1 Each competitor will be allocated approximately 20 minutes.
7.2 Within this time competitors must:
Introduce themselves
Present the inspiration behind both cocktails
Prepare both cocktails
Present both cocktails to the judging panel
The final competition timing will be confirmed before the Grand Final.

8.1 Competitors will receive the official judging criteria before the Competition.
8.2 Judging will include, but not be limited to:
Creativity & Originality
Balance of Flavour
Use & Enhancement of the Rum
Technical Execution
Presentation & Visual Appeal
Storytelling & Brand Connection
Professionalism & Hygiene
Overall Impression
8.3 The judges' decisions are final and no correspondence will be entered into.

9.1 Final cocktail recipes must be submitted by 30th October 2026.
9.2 Recipes may not be amended after submission.
9.3 Submitted recipes will be reviewed to ensure compliance with the Competition Rules and may be reproduced for judging materials, promotional purposes and official Competition publications.

10.1 By entering the Competition, competitors grant the Organisers permission to photograph, film and record their participation.
10.2 The Organisers reserve the right to use photographs, video footage, cocktail recipes, competitor names, venue names and related content for promotional, educational and marketing purposes without additional compensation.

11.1 The Organisers reserve the right to amend these Terms & Conditions or the Competition format where reasonably necessary.
11.2 Any competitor found to have breached these Terms & Conditions or acted in a manner considered unprofessional, unsafe or detrimental to the integrity of the Competition may be disqualified.
11.3 Participation in the Competition constitutes acceptance of these Terms & Conditions.
